The event, Melbourne Meets Modi, expected to draw around 30,000 attendees, is part of PM Narendra Modi’s third visit to Australia, where he will address the Indian community alongside Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan.

The organisers have urged people who registered for the event to complete their RSVP at the earliest once they receive an email.

The proposed Sydney-to-Melbourne group travel arrangement is aimed at helping community members coordinate travel if sufficient demand is received.

Its central location, transport links, controlled entry points and large seating capacity are understood to have been key considerations in the venue assessment.
