The neuromorphic system, funded by the NSW Smart Sensing Network, enables efficient tracking of black soldier flies to optimise their waste processing capabilities.
This upgrades the investigation to come under the Joint Counter-terrorism Team, which includes the Australian Federal Police, Victoria Police and ASIO.
Plans are also in progress to digitise more than 60,000 Girmit records and establish a dedicated museum to preserve this history for future generations.
