As told by an Uber Eats driver
“It’s scary to see where this country is heading.
Lately, I’ve been seeing more and more people doing Uber Eats with their kids, especially over the last few months. This morning at around 5:00 AM, I saw something that really stayed with me — a young boy, no older than 10, sleeping alone in a car while his father was out collecting an Uber Eats order.
Times are tough, and many families are struggling just to get by. I truly hope things improve for everyone. Every child deserves a safe and happy childhood, not long nights sitting in cars while their parents work.
If you’re doing it because you genuinely have no other choice, I sincerely hope things get better for you soon.
But if you’re doing it purely out of greed, while your children pay the price, then it may be time to rethink your priorities.
Before anyone asks — yes, I’m an Uber Eats driver as well. I understand the pressures and the realities of the job. This post isn’t about judging hardworking parents; it’s about remembering that our children deserve better.”
