The United States has released a fifth batch of government records relating to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), bringing the total number of records made public through its latest disclosure programme to about 370. The latest release, published on August 7, contains 41 records, including 16 videos, alongside documents and images from reported encounters involving military personnel and other government agencies.

The releases have covered a surprisingly broad period. The earliest material goes back to the late 1940s, while the latest records concern incidents reported as recently as 2026. Across the five releases are military reports, pilot accounts, intelligence records, photographs, videos and historical documents involving reported sightings in locations ranging from the United States and Afghanistan to the Middle East and the Pacific. The first tranche was released on May 8, with subsequent batches following in May, June, July and August.

Some of the footage is particularly striking. The fourth release, issued in July, contained 40 records, including 19 videos, while the latest batch includes footage and reports from more recent military encounters. Among the cases in the new material are reports of unusual objects observed over the Gulf of Oman and elsewhere, including military infrared recordings. Some earlier footage from the fourth release also shows objects whose apparent shape, movement or behaviour is difficult to interpret from the images alone.
