Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his government will seek closer ties with India across the spectrum, says Federal Minister for Communications, Michelle Rowland.
The Hindu Council of Australia organised Diwali celebrations at the Parliament of New South Wales which was also attended by Indian Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
"To celebrate Indian people, culture, and accomplishments, we wanted to create something specifically for this flourishing community which we hope will be well received."

The crash killed 42-year-old mother Nancy Lefrançois and her 11-year-old son Loïc Chevalier, who were travelling in a passenger vehicle struck in the collision.
