on

A colourful new mural celebrating the Australian-Indian community has transformed a stretch of western Sydney into a vibrant tribute to migration, culture and belonging.

Spanning 120 metres in Harris Park, the artwork reflects the sights, flavours and stories that have helped shape the suburb’s identity as Sydney’s “Little India”. The project, led by the City of Parramatta, brings together themes of heritage, food, family and the shared journeys of the Australian-Indian diaspora.

Located in Sydney, Harris Park has long been known for its Indian restaurants, grocery stores and community spaces. The mural adds a striking visual layer to this cultural hub, capturing the everyday experiences and memories that define the neighbourhood.

The artwork is a celebration of stories of belonging and the deep connections between Australia and India. The mural now stands as a vivid public artwork honouring the people and traditions that continue to shape the streets of Little India.
