South Australia Police are appealing for public assistance after six marble Hindu deity statues, including statues of Krishna and Kali, were stolen during a break-in at a temple in Holden Hill.
Police said an unknown person broke into the temple on Peat Avenue shortly before 5am on Monday, 10 August, and stole the six marble statues. Damage was also caused to the premises during the break-in.
The statues are believed to be of significant cultural and financial value to the Hindu community.
Holden Hill police are continuing investigations to identify the suspect and locate the stolen statues.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed suspicious activity around the temple at the time of the break-in, or who has information about the whereabouts of the statues, to come forward.
