Kami Rita completed the ascent while guiding an expedition team through the Nepal route of Everest. Born in Nepal’s Solukhumbu region, which is known for producing many experienced Sherpa climbers, Kami Rita followed a path closely connected to the mountains from an early age. Over the decades, he has become one of the most respected figures in the climbing community and a symbol of the Sherpa contribution to Himalayan expeditions.

Lhakpa Sherpa’s achievement is especially significant in a field that has traditionally been dominated by men. Her repeated climbs have made her an influential figure in global mountaineering and an inspiration for aspiring female climbers around the world.

The achievements of both climbers highlight the essential role Sherpas play on Everest expeditions. Sherpa guides are responsible for many of the most demanding tasks on the mountain, including route preparation, carrying equipment, fixing ropes, and assisting climbers through dangerous sections of the ascent.
