Indian-origin good samaritan dies of power electrocution in Brisbane

Manendra was trying to serve the community by removing a tree in his local area and unfortunately died of a power electrocution.

Bala Naga Manendra Kopparthi, 30-year-old, was killed during a severe weather event in Murarrie, Brisbane, on December 15.

According to Manendra’s friends, he was trying to serve the community by removing a tree in his local area and unfortunately died of a power electrocution.

“Manendra was a bundle of warmth, kindness, and joy, touching the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know them. His departure has left an irreplaceable void, echoing the fragility of life itself.”

Emergency services were called to Murarrie Road just after 5 pm to report an unconscious man lying near fallen powerlines.

Upon arrival, Manendra was located with life-threatening injuries and was declared deceased a short time later.

Friends of Manendra have now organized a donation drive through GoFundMe to cover the funeral expenses of his untimely passing.

“Funeral expenses, an unexpected burden, weigh heavily on the grieving hearts of Manendra family. As we join hands to support them through this difficult time, we extend an earnest plea for financial assistance to ensure that Manendra receives the dignified farewell they deserve.”

Queensland Police is investigating the case and preparing a report for the coroner.
