Forbes’ 2026 ranking of America’s richest immigrants shows India producing more billionaires than any other country for the second year in a row, with 19 India-born billionaires on the list — up from 12 last year.
The full list now counts a record 144 immigrant billionaires, worth a combined $2.2 trillion, compared with 125 billionaires worth $1.3 trillion in 2025.
These foreign-born billionaires come from 45 countries and territories this year, up from 42 in 2025. India, Israel and Taiwan together account for more than a quarter of the 144 billionaires on the list. New entrants this year include Haiti, the Philippines, Poland and Spain, while Guatemala dropped off after its only billionaire, Duolingo cofounder Luis von Ahn, saw his fortune fall below ten figures amid a stock decline.
Immigrant billionaires now make up close to 15% of all American billionaires and hold about a quarter of the country’s total billionaire wealth. Three of the world’s ten richest people are immigrants to the U.S.: Elon Musk (born in South Africa), who briefly became the world’s first trillionaire in June; Sergey Brin, cofounder of Google; and Jensen Huang, cofounder of Nvidia. Combined, these three hold more than 60% of the total wealth of all immigrant billionaires on the list.
