More than 700 devotees gathered in Melbourne for the Sri Guru Raghavendra Swami Aradhana Mahotsava, organised by Sri Venkata Krishna Brundavana, a Melbourne branch of Puttige Mutt.
The grand religious celebration brought together devotees from across Melbourne, who participated in sacred rituals and sought the blessings of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swami.
The ceremonies included Panchamrita Abhisheka to the presiding deities and Sri Guru Raghavendra Swami, followed by Ashtottara Puja, Maha Mangalaarati and other traditional rituals.
Sri Prasannacharya, Coordinator of the International Branches of Puttige Mutt, led the celebrations, while Sri Vishwanatha Acharya, Head Priest of Sri Venkata Krishna Brundavana, conducted the pujas and other religious ceremonies.
The Mahotsava was attended by several prominent Australian leaders, including Julian Hill MP, Assistant Minister for Citizenship, Customs and Multicultural Affairs and Assistant Minister for International Education; Steve Dimopoulos MP, Victorian Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events and Minister for Trade and Investment; John Mullahy MP, Member for Glen Waverley; and Lee Tarlamis OAM MP, Labor Member for the South-Eastern Metropolitan Region.
Sri Ramesh, Sri Jagan Mohan and Sri Ashwin welcomed the distinguished guests and devotees on behalf of the Mutt.
Addressing the gathering, Sri Prasannacharya expressed gratitude to the Australian Government and praised its multicultural policies, which enable communities to preserve and celebrate their religious, cultural and spiritual traditions.
He said Sri Venkata Krishna Brundavana continued to play an important role in preserving India’s rich heritage while contributing to Australia’s broader social and cultural life.
The visiting dignitaries praised the community service undertaken by Sri Venkata Krishna Brundavana and its volunteers over the years, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
They noted that the Brundavana had developed beyond a place of worship to become an important community institution representing Indian culture, spirituality, service and harmony.
The Aradhana Mahotsava provided a vibrant meeting point for devotion, culture and multiculturalism, further strengthening connections between Melbourne’s Indian-Australian community and the wider Australian society.
The celebration concluded with devotees offering prayers and seeking the blessings of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swami. Sri Ramesh, Sri Jagan Mohan and Sri Ashwin thanked the dignitaries, devotees, volunteers and everyone who contributed to the successful celebration.
