The volumes of sand carried along the coast are immense. It is estimated 500,000 cubic metres of sand moves north past each metre of shoreline every year.
The agreement will enter into force 30 days after both countries have confirmed with each other in writing that they have completed their respective domestic requirements.
These new guidelines mean that no 'vaccination certificate and RT-PCR' test is required for any age group when passengers arrive as international travellers in India.
