A thief broke into a Hindu temple in Fiji’s capital, Suva, early Monday morning and allegedly stole around $2,000 in cash along with other items, prompting an appeal for public help to identify the suspect.
The break-in occurred at about 1.30am at the Howell Road Temple in Suva, according to a temple committee member.
The suspect was captured on CCTV, and the temple committee is asking members of the public to help identify the person.
Police are investigating the incident and have urged anyone with information to contact Samabula Police Station.
The incident has raised concerns within the local Hindu community about security at places of worship in the Suva area.
