Kingra, an alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to a high-profile attack on a residence linked to Punjabi singer AP Dhillon, during which gunshots were fired and vehicles were set alight.

Critics argue that SB 509 prioritises abstract foreign threats over immediate protection for communities at risk from domestic extremism such as from white supremacists and Khalistani extremists.

Canadian Hindu MP Chandra Arya, Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre have all condemned the violence.

The investigation remains ongoing and Victoria Police are making enquiries to identify and apprehend any further alleged offenders from the day.

Khalistan supporter 'man' on the phone call claimed that his name is 'Gurupdesh Singh' and is calling to warn Hindus to support Khalistan or face dire consequences.
