While expressing gratitude for his time in office, Arya also used the moment to sound the alarm on what he sees as urgent and growing economic challenges.

Despite his extensive background in finance—having served as Governor of both the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England—PM Mark Carney has never before held elected office.

“It is about time that all political parties and politicians in Canada made building those people-to-people ties the priority – and not the priority of building relations with Khalistanis.”

In January, the Liberals barred him from entering the leadership race to replace outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a move Arya suggested raised “significant questions” about the race’s legitimacy.
