The Indian Universities cricket team has secured a convincing 4–2 victory over Australia in a bilateral university series played on Australian soil, marking a strong finish to a landmark reciprocal tour.

The series follows Australia’s 2024 tour of India and was organised in partnership with the Association of Indian Universities, strengthening sporting and cultural ties between the two countries.

Beyond competitive cricket, the tour also focused on cultural exchange, with matches staged along Australia’s east coast.

A squad of 24 Australian student-athletes, drawn from 10 universities across the country, was selected to compete against the Indian Universities side in a six-match series held in December 2025.

The opening leg of the tour took place in Brisbane, with three matches played on Wednesday 10 December, Thursday 11 December and Friday 12 December.

The series then moved to Sydney, where the remaining three matches were contested on Tuesday 16 December, Wednesday 17 December and Thursday 18 December.

Organisers said the tour highlighted the growing standard of university-level cricket and reinforced the value of international student sport exchanges in building long-term people-to-people connections between India and Australia.
