The Fair Work Ombudsman has an agreement with the Department of Home Affairs, called the Assurance Protocol, where visa holders with work rights can ask for help without fear of their visa being cancelled.
“If anyone is being exploited or is aware of someone who is being exploited in some way, please report through Border Watch, regardless of your visa status."
The FWO investigated after receiving requests for assistance from the two affected workers. One worker was a pastry cook and the other worker was engaged as a sales assistant.
“Exploring waterfalls, swimming at local springs or pools, boating and fishing are all part of the unique Territory lifestyle. We want to protect that by teaching our youngest Territorians how to swim while they’re in primary school.”
