Ballot results announced for 3,000 Pacific engagement visas in 2025

The ballot system, which costs $25 to enter, is conducted electronically to ensure fair and transparent access.

The Australian Government has announced the results of the random ballot for the Pacific Engagement Visa (PEV), with successful entrants now able to check their status through their ImmiAccount.

If selected, applicants will see their status marked as ‘Selected’ and will receive a Notification of Selection letter via email, which will also be accessible in their ImmiAccount. Applications must then be lodged by the deadline specified in the notification letter.

The PEV, a permanent residence visa, offers up to 3,000 places annually—including partners and dependent children—for nationals from 12 Pacific Island countries and Timor-Leste.

The program is designed to strengthen people-to-people ties, grow the Pacific and Timor-Leste diaspora in Australia, and foster deeper cultural, educational and business exchange across the region.

For the 2025 intake, allocations include: Papua New Guinea (1,350 places), Fiji (300), Timor-Leste (300), Samoa (150), Solomon Islands (150), Tonga (150), Vanuatu (150), Kiribati (100), Nauru (100), Federated States of Micronesia (50), and Palau (50). Tuvalu will also participate in the 2024–25 ballot.

The ballot system, which costs $25 to enter, is conducted electronically to ensure fair and transparent access. Those selected are then invited to apply for the Pacific Engagement (subclass 192) visa, provided they meet eligibility requirements.

Unsuccessful entrants will need to reapply in future ballots.
