A three-year-old girl killed in a devastating crash north of Brisbane has been remembered by her family as a “loveable and loving child” full of life and energy.

The girl, identified as Esha, was walking home from daycare with her mother, grandmother and younger brother when she was struck by a Nissan Navara at the corner of Lynfield Drive and Toohey Street in Caboolture about 6.47 pm on Tuesday.

Despite desperate efforts by paramedics, the young child died at the scene.

Her grandmother, Amtus Akber, described Esha as a deeply affectionate child whose warmth left a lasting impression on those around her.

“She was a special child, a very, very loving child,” she told 7NEWS.

“The way she loved you, the way she hugged you.”

CCTV footage from a nearby home captured the family walking along the road just moments before the tragedy unfolded.

Neighbours who rushed to the scene spoke of the horror they witnessed.

“I ran up to see what was going on and to see if there was anything that I could do, but it was too far gone,” resident Jason Lubbers said.

Another neighbour, Kevin Taylor, said he saw a distraught woman clutching a child in the aftermath.

“It was sad, she was distraught, very, very distraught,” he said.

Queensland Ambulance confirmed Esha’s mother, grandmother and younger brother were taken to Caboolture Hospital in a stable condition but suffering emotional distress.

Police said the vehicle, driven by a 49-year-old Caboolture woman, was turning right when the collision occurred. The driver is assisting investigators, with early indications suggesting the incident is being treated as a tragic accident.

Sergeant Greg Price from the Burpengary Forensic Crash Unit said the family was struggling to come to terms with the loss.

“We’ve just spent hours with the family, and they are absolutely distraught… just disbelief they’ve lost their three-year-old daughter, three-year-old granddaughter,” he said.

Residents have since placed flowers and teddy bears at the site, transforming the roadside into a growing memorial for the young girl.

Police are urging anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident to come forward as investigations continue.
