Police have identified the man who died following a serious crash on Auckland’s South-Western Motorway earlier this month.

20-year-old Jagpreet Singh, an Indian international student from Jammu, was studying in New Zealand.

The collision, involving Singh’s car and a truck, occurred near Māngere at around 4am on 3 December.

Emergency services assessed Singh at the scene with critical injuries, and he was rushed to hospital, where he died nearly two weeks later.

“Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this time,” a police spokesperson told local media, adding that investigations into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
